So early today we closed up camp and headed to Camping World in Houghton Lake to have our Dish Network Satellite system installed. We are super excited about this as Les and I both love TV and we picked out a self tuning dish (top o the line). We knew we were in for a long wait. We also knew that our friends Dug and Val were coming over to Hartwick pines to have pizza and check out our new house. After 6 ½ hours and watching the womens world cup semi – final soccer game ( Japan 3 Sweden 1 { Japan vs USA on Sunday}) we were ready to go. We raced home to Hartwick and almost had everything set up. Dug and Val showed up at the same time I discover that the fridge was broken. It still seemed to work on propane but……….It work before we went to Camping World. We still had a great evening with our friends. The next morning Brady and I tackled the 5 mile trail. We broken down camp and headed back to Camping World. They were able to fix it in about 2 ½ hours. The culprit was a crimped wire. Proof we are off with smiles.
We headed toward the bridge but had to stop and see the “Giant Man-Killing Clam” at Sea Shell City. It is just rude not to stop at this historical 1953 landmark. PS Cleanest bathrooms you will ever see outside your own home. Minutes later we are going over the Big Mac Bridge .
A snap decision sent us to Sault ST. Marie. We found a great little Campground ( Soo Locks Campground). It is right on the water, Clean and friendly! We plan to spend about two days here.
We had dinner at “The Antlers” It is a great old family restaurant with an atmosphere of Taxidermicalgical proportions. They had a great Michigan beer menu. We had deep fried dill pickles chips ( my new favorite food) pork chops smoked on apple wood planks and smoked salmon salad. Everything was great and homemade.
The three of us took an evening walk along the bank and watch a pink and orange sunset. Life is beautiful.
